CBSE Term 2 Result 2022 Live Updates: Dismissing reports of delay in class 10th 12th board results, officials have now shared that CBSE results are expected in the last week of July Month as per the schedule. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) may release the CBSE Board Result 2022 by the end of July. Once the result is declared, aspirants will be able to check their class 10 and class 12 results through the official website of CBSE at cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. The results will be available through Digilocker and UMANG app and also through SMS. According to the official data shared by CBSE, this year a total of 21,16,209 students registered to appear for the CBSE Term 2 board exam. Out of the total students, 8,94,993 were girls and 12,21,195 were boys. In addition, 22,732 schools participated in the CBSE class 10th board examinations. ·       Agriculture practices- The various tasks performed by a farmer to produce a good crop are called agricultural practices.

 

·       Animal husbandry- Food is also obtained from animals for which animals are reared. This is called animal husbandry.

 

 

·       Crop- When the same kind of plants are grown and cultivated at one place on a large scale, it is called a crop.

 

·       Fertilizers-A chemical fertilizers is a salt or an organic compound containing the necessary plant nutrients like nitrogen phosphorous or potassium, to make the soil more fertile.

 

 

·       Granaries-Granaries are storehouse where the farmers keep their grain for storage after harvesting.

·       Harvesting-The cutting of crop after it is mature is called harvesting.

 

·       Irrigation-The supply of water to crops at regular intervals is called irrigation.

 

 

·       Kharif-The crops which are sown in the rainy season are called Kharif crop ex- paddy etc.

 

·       Manure-The substance which are added to the soil in the form of nutrient for the healthy growth of plants are called manure.

 

 

·       Plough-Plough is a tool used in agriculture which is made of wood or iron and it helps in tilling the soil and removing the weeds.

 

·       Rabi-The crops which are sown in the winter season are called Rabi crop ex- wheat etc.

 

 

·       Seeds- The small and hard part of a plant which grows into a new plant and same kind of plant.

 

·       Silo-Silo is the cylindrical concrete constructions in which grains are stored on large scale to protect them from pests, like rats and insects.

·       Sowing- Sowing means putting the seeds into the soil so that they can grow plants.

 

·       Storage- Storage is the process of storing food grains for a long time so that they can be used further.

 

 

·       Threshing- In the harvested crop, the grains need to be separated from the chaff. This is process is called threshing.

 

·       Weeds- The unwanted plants which may grow naturally along with the crops are called weed.

 

 

·       Weedicides- Weed are controlled by using certain chemical called Weedicides like 2, 4-d.

 

·       Winnowing- Winnowing is the process of separating edible grain from chaff by using air that has some speed.

4. Write a paragraph in your own words on each of the following:-

(a) Preparation of soil: - Soil preparation is necessary before growing a crop. It involves tilling and loosening the soil. This allows the roots to penetrate deep in the soil and to breathe easily even when they are deep.

(b) Sowing: - The process of putting seeds into the soil is called sowing. The total used traditionally for sowing seeds is funnel shaped. Nowadays a seed drill is used for sowing with the help of tractors. This tool sows the seeds uniformly at a proper distance and depth.  

(c)Weeding: - Some undesirable plants grow along with crop and these unwanted plants are called weeds. The process of removing these unwanted plants is called weeding.

(d)Threshing:-The process of separating the grain seeds from the chaff is called threshing.

                   

5. Explain how fertilizers different from manure?

             Ans:-

1.    A fertilizer is an inorganic Salt.

 Manure is a natural Substance obtained by the   Decomposition of cattle                                     

dung, Human waste and plant residues.

humus to any humus to the soil.

Manure provides a lot of the soil.

6.    What is irrigation? Describe two methods of irrigation which conserve water.

Ans:- The artificial method of watering the plants for assisting in their                  growth is called irrigation.

Two   methods   which   helps   us   to   conserve   water.

(a)  Sprinkler irrigation system: - This irrigation system has an arrangement of vertical pipes with rotating nozzles on the top. It is more useful in the uneven and sandy land where sufficient water is available.

(b) Drip irrigation system: - This irrigation system has an arrangement of pipes or tubes with the very small holes in them to water plants drop by drop just at the base of the root. It is very difficult as water is not available.

7.    If wheat is sown in the Kharif season, what would happen? Discuss?

Ans:-  Wheat crop is sown from November/December to march/April. It is grown in winter and requires less water. If wheat is sown in Kharif season, its production will be decreased considerably.

 

8. Explain how soil gets affected by the continuous plantation of crops in a field?

Ans:-    Continuous plantation of crops makes the soil poorer in certain nutrients as the crops take up nutrients from the oil. The soil becomes infertile. It does not get enough time to replenish the nutrients.

9. What are the weeds? How can we control them?

Ans:-  The undesirable and unwanted plants which grow naturally along with the crop are called weeds. The growth of weeds can be controlled by adopting many ways. Telling before sowing of crops helps in the uprooting and killing of weeds, which may then dry up and get mixed with the soil. Weeds are also controlled by using certain chemicals, called Weedicides. Weedicides are sprayed in the fields to kill the weeds.
